Good news for OnePlus users company announced Android O update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Last week, OnePlus confirmed that OnePlus 3/3T will be out of production and get discontinued globally. The news raises the question among users whether the device will get the future updates or not. However, OnePlus CEO now confirmed that OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will get Android O update.

The OnePlus CEO Pete Lau tweet that “A lot of you have been asking, so I’m proud to say Android O will come to OnePlus 3 and 3T.”. Pete Lau didn’t mention any update timeline, but we guess the Android O update for OnePlus 3/3T should be released within a few months after its official release. Unfortunately, there is no information from the company whether the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X devices will also get updated or not. In the meantime, you can Update your OnePlus 3/3T to Android 7.1

Android O update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T

Google recently launched the second developer preview of Android O at its recent Google I/O event which features Picture-in-Picture, Smart Text Selection, Auto-Fill and Notification Dots options. The update is still in its beta stage and currently rolled out for only Pixel or Nexus Devices. We expected to see the final version of Android O in Q4 and the same time the update for OnePlus 3/3T.

Company’s latest Flagship deviceOnePlus 5 is right around the corner which will be launched with Android 7.1.1 but the device will be getting the update to Android O as well. As most of the company’s focus has shifted to that upcoming flagship, it’s good to see that owners of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T aren’t going to be left behind.
