How to Install Android 7.0 Nougat Update on US Moto X Pure –
Method 1
1) First Download Moto X Pure US Nougat OTA zip from above and save it to your device.
2) Now Turn Off your phone and boot into recovery mode. To enter into Recovery mode –
- Boot into Bootloader mode by using Power+Volume Down.
- Now you can see “No command“.
- Now hold Power+Volume Up and select the Recovery option.
3) Now in Recovery select option apply update from sdcard.
4) Now select the OTA zip file you downloaded from above.
5) Now, wait until the process finishes.
6) Done! Reboot your system and enjoy.
Method 2
1) Enable USB debugging option from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.
3) Download ADB and fastboot driver for windows or ADB and Fastboot for Mac and install it on your PC.
4) Download the NPH25.200-22 OTA zip from above Copy ROM to a folder where adb installed.
5) Now Turn Off your phone and boot into recovery mode.

4) Now Connect your phone to Laptop/PC
5) On Marshmallow ROM folder press shift+right click and click on open command here.
6) Now check your connection by typing the below command
adb devices
if your device is listed, you’re ready to flash the ROM
7) Flash the Nougat OTA Zip on US Moto X Pure by typing below command
adb sideload File Name.zip
8) Now wait until the process complete and then Reboot the phone.
9) Done!

Hi I followed the instructions to the letter but Everytime I boot into recovery mode and go to apply from SD card there is never nothing there?? What am I doing wrong? Please help as I am tired of waiting for the OTA update for this phone my security patch is 10 months old already I need this update ASAP.
Turn on Dev Options and Enable USB Debugging as instructed above, and connect your X Pure to your computer. Once connected, click on the USB Debugging balloon and select the option for MTP (Transfer Files). You will see 2 Different Drives loaded on your computer for your X Pure; Internal and SD. Copy the OTA Zip to the Internal Drive. Then boot into Recovery and Apply the Update… You will now see the OTA Zip File listed.
Hi everyone, it worked :) I finally got Android 7 on my Moto X Pure US XT1575, method 1 install from SD card didn’t work because the recovery does not see the zip file, I guess if the phone is rooted with unlocked bootloader the zip can be copied to the internal storage and then the recovery will see it. I used method 2 – install update from ADB and it worked with no problems, just takes some time 30- 50 minutes, but not all instructions are included above, I had some previous experience flashing Nexus 5 so you can google for tutorials. And just to mention it did upgrade the OS without wiping my apps, settings, messages etc, so once I booted I had everything as I left off before the upgrade. Fantastic, I’m very happy. Thanks to the developer who uploaded the system update file. The update file name is Blur_Version.24.231.16.clark_retus.retus.en.US.zip which is the version for Android 6, but inside are the files for Android 7 after the update is done the version displayed in settings is NPH25.200-15. The OTA udate from Motorola didn’t come to my phone when I was checking for new software update, so this helped me a lot as I was so tired of waiting for the official release. There is no option to attach pictures here, so you can see it for real.So update it manually and good luck to everyone :)

Confirmed method 2 works on XT1575, installed via terminal on mac.
Copied to internal, that didn’t work so transferred to SD and just started using Nougat. Thanks to this site
