The phone launched in China and then company released the International variant of the phone also. The Chinese variant of ZTE Axon 7 has many themes, and more can be downloaded and installed from Theme Store, but you cannot find the Theme Store app on the International variant. ZTE only put two or three themes on the Axon 7. As there is no theme store, and no way to customize parts of either of these themes. So you’re stuck with the pre-installed themes, the only thing that you can change is the wallpaper on the home screen or the lock screen. To Enable Theme Store on ZTE Axon 7, you need a device with unlocked bootloader and TWRP Recovery Installed on your device, and you have to register for a ZTE Account. Current issues –
ZTE’s dynamic lock screen doesn’t allow you to swipe to unlock your phone when you have notifications and they’re visible. What you’ll need to do is to tap the “bell” icon to hide your notifications in order to swipe to unlock. Fingerprints bypass this.
Prerequisites
- Your device must be rooted with a working custom recovery.
- It is advisable to take a full Nandroid backup for safer side.
- Flashable theme store for Axon 7 – ZTE-A2017-ThemeStoreMOD-by-freeza_DrakenFX.zip.
How to Enable Theme Store on ZTE Axon 7
1) First of all, you need to register with a ZTE Account.
2) Go to this Page to register for an account. (The page is in the Chinese Language, Translate it if prompted or use Google Chrome and Translate it).
3) Use your Email id to register with ZTE account. (Phone registration won’t work so use the E-mail registration)
4) Once you have registered and activated your account, Download the Modded Theme Store for Axon 7 from above and copy it on your device.
5) Now Boot your device into Recovery mode (TWRP) by pressing ‘Volume UP + Power‘ button.
4) In TWRP recovery navigate to Install and select ‘ZTE-A2017-ThemeStoreMOD-by-freeza_DrakenFX.zip‘.
5) Swipe to Flash and reboot your device.
6) Now Go to System Settings –>Apps, Tap on the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner and select Show system apps.
7) Scroll down to find ZTE Account and give permissions to all ZTE Accounts, Theme Store, Lock Screen Framework and ZTE Lock.
8) Now open the theme store and Sign in with your ZTE account.
9) Done! Now you can access a bunch of ZTE themes.
