2) Now create a folder dload in the root of your SD card and place the update.app file in that folder.
3) Now dial *#*#2846579#*#* from your phone dialer to open a hidden menu.
4) Now select Software Upgrade and start SDCard Upgrade.

Step 2
1) Now download update_data_full_hw_eu.zip for Huawei P9 from above and extract it.
2) Now copy all data including update.app file in the dload folder.

Hi Sumit! Thanks for clarifying. I tried this but no luck. Always stuck at 38% and got fail to update message. Tried updating the phone using the second .zip file and my phone got stuck on Huawei Erecovery. Good thing that P9 offers 1-to-1 phone replacement and now I got my new Huawei P9. Maybe I’ll just wait for the OTA update instead.
We could be waiting along time, I see no signs of it myself.

No I didn’t try this. I’m not using Huawei P9. I only shared with you guys also the source claimed they tested the files and worked perfectly on their device.
