Marshmallow Update for Honor 5X Starts Rolling Out

Huawei starts rolling out the latest stable version of Android Marshmallow for Honor 5X (KIW-L22). Earlier Honor 6, Huawei P8 Lite and Huawei G8 receives the update, and now Marshmallow Update for Honor 5X start rolling out. Marshmallow update for Honor 5X is currently rolling out only in Asia region for a model number KIW-L22. The update is available via company’s official app HiCare. You can also download the OTA file and Update Honor 5X to Marshmallow Manually. This update is based on EMUI 4.0 and contains all Android 6.0 Marshmallow features. Marshmallow Update for Honor 5X

The new Marshmallow update packed with features like Now on Tap, Doze Mode, App Permissions and more. Also, get some device specific changes like New EMUI 4.0. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Honor 5X is available for download, and it is about 1.45GB in size. The update may wipe SD Card data, so it is advisable to take a backup before you Update Huawei Honor 5X to Marshmallow.

Note:-

  • Your device must be on stock firmware and stock recovery.
  • This update is only for Huawei Honor 5X KIW-L22 India.
  • Follow the steps correctly otherwise you may brick your device. We are not responsible for any damage to your phone.
  • It will not erase your data, but it is advisable to take a complete backup of your phone for safer side.
  • Ensure that your phone has at least 50-60% charged to prevent the accidental shutdown in-between the process.

Steps to Manually Update Honor 5X to Marshmallow –

Method 1 –

How to Upgrade Honor 5X with HiCare App –

1) First, download the latest version of HiCare App from PlayStore.

2) Open the HiCare app and select the region as Asia Pacific and location India (English).

3) Click on OS upgrade option.

4) Go to the Version Update agree on terms and conditions and click on Apply.

5) Now a pop-up window appears, click on the system update and then click on check for updates.

6) Now you will see the New version update,  click on it to update Honor 5x to the latest version.

Method 2

Manual update via OTA file –

1) First, download Android 6.0 OTA file for Honor 5X from above.

2) Now create a folder dload in the root of your internal storage or SD card and place the update.app file in that folder.

3) Now go to the phone settings–>update and press the menu button.

4)  Now select choose Local update.

5) It will detect the update.app and installation process will start.

6) Wait until the installation process is complete and then reboot your device., you have latest firmware

7) Done.

    how can i update my Hauwei KII-L21
    B140 to android 6.0

    also, I bought this phone last month. I got update to B140 EMUI 3.1. whrn i checked the specs of this phone its says it comes with EMUI 4.0, i have checked for update to 4.0 but its not available.

    please! how do i update to EMUI 4.0 and marshmallow. thanks

    I am from Czech republic I have Honor 5x kiw-22 phone have EMUI 2.0 Is it normal? And update Android 6.0 yes?
