For anyone curious, the second option was just about the only way I seemed to get the new update. Took forever to download OTA, and it seems to be working.

  2. I put the update.zip in internal storage but the update doesn’t recognize it . If I put it on my SD card and use method 2 is there any chance the SD card may get erased ?

    • If you find a solution for installing 7.1 on the JP version let me know at [email protected] please. I picked up an Axon 7 and Daydream View only to meet with disappointment the likes of which even Hercules hasn’t seen.

    • Check your SD card. I couldn’t update anything with any method from a 128GB card formatted with exFat, even if it was working without problems in the phone itself and the file was even seen in the recovery.
Tried a 32GB card with FAT32 and update worked from the update menu.

I have an axon 7 pro that updated to an ui that put all the apps on the screens and got rid of the apps shortcut. Learned to live it. Had to reset phone and now can’t figure out how to get that ui back. Any help?
