From a user experience POV, it makes sense that TikTok would recommend content based on your geographical location.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your language since it wouldn\u2019t really make sense for TikTok to recommend videos that you can\u2019t understand. Of course, the app has no idea you know multiple languages if you don\u2019t tell it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And finally, your preferences. TikTok will analyze what kinds of videos you like and dislike over time, and try to recommend content based on your activity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides that, there\u2019s a chance TikTok\u2019s algorithm also takes device information and video data (like captions and hashtags) into account.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How to See Videos from Other Regions<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TikTok is pretty good at what it does, but what if you live in Italy or India, and joined TikTok to see content from influencers from the US or the UK?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In that scenario, you should try the following to get around TikTok\u2019s geo-based algorithm:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Change Your Language<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Luckily, you aren\u2019t restricted to using just one language. You can set as many as you want. Follow People from Those Regions<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since TikTok also recommends content based on how you interact with videos, you could persuade it to show videos from other countries by following content creators from those regions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So use the magnifying glass (called <\/span><b>Discover<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) in the lower left-hand side to find popular TikTok-ers. If you don\u2019t know enough, just google stuff like \u201cbest TikTok creators from [country].\u201d You should find plenty of useful articles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides that, you can also further influence the algorithm by following people who are following the content creators you like. To do that, tap <\/span><b>Followers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on an influencer\u2019s profile, scroll through the list, and follow whoever you want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To finish, make sure you like and comment on the videos you watch. TikTok is more likely to catch on that that\u2019s what you\u2019re interested in.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3. Use a VPN<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes, TikTok recommends videos based on your IP address. That\u2019s where a VPN comes in handy.
