Landlords need to know what their role is in the relationship with the tenets. The landlord is there to make sure that the property remains habitable and in good shape while complying with all local ordinances. This means no major structural issues with the property, like shifting foundations or cracked walls.<\/span><\/p>\n It’s also important for landlords to know what it means when their unit needs to be clean and free of pests. A landlord must make sure that all areas around the home: kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, and living spaces, are clean.<\/span><\/p>\n This includes removing all garbage from the unit and any other areas on the property that tenants use, like stairwells or hallways.<\/span><\/p>\n It is also the responsibility of landlords to provide their tenants with running water.
