The pandemic forced most of the world to go into a prolonged lockdown, and the effect was significant for the education sector. The closure of university and college campuses globally led to the beginning of online learning for most students.

During this time, online learning portals began to be widely used. As campuses are reopening, many institutions still choose to continue remote learning due to the various advantages. It has led many to wonder whether remote learning is here to replace university campus life completely.

Most undergraduate programs are three to four years long, depending on what stream and subject you want to specialise in. As campuses begin to reopen, institutions and educators should evaluate the benefits of having a hybrid education.

A hybrid education would entail the student attending classes and events partially on campuses. It allows a good mix between on-campus and off-campus learning. The students can opt to take classes online from wherever they want for the rest of their course duration. It is the ideal way to expose students to the best qualities of both types of education.

Many institutions are adopting an approach where they introduce theoretical knowledge and lectures through pre-recorded video lessons and use on-campus class time as a way to interact with students. It enables them to teach in-depth concepts and start more discussions to increase engagement while the students are on campus.

A considerable number of resources are required to accommodate students each year within campuses. From living arrangements to arranging class space for lectures, a lot goes into the logistical planning for planning a student year on campus.

Shifting Towards a Hybrid Model
