A newly launched Indian smartphone company Ringing Bells launched world’s cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 in India at only Rs 251 (approx $4). According to the company Freedom 251 launch is in line with Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story”. The company already launched India’s cheapest 4G smartphone at Rs 2999. Freedom 251 supports Indian Government projects ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ and comes with several apps for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Farmers, and Women Safety. The phone will be launched today by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikkar.
The world’s cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 comes with a 4-inch qHD IPS display with 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The phone has 8GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 32GB.
The Freedom 251 also offers a 3.2-megapixel autofocus rear camera and VGA (0.3) front camera. Also, it comes with the connectivity option like 3G support. cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Ringing Bells has 650+ service centres across India. The company also offers one year of warranty on the device and six months of warranty on accessries.
