1) First, enable ‘USB debugging’ and ‘USB Unlocking’ option from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.

2) Download TWRP 3.0.0 for Redmi Note 4 from above and place it in the folder where ADB installed and rename it to ‘recovery.img’.

3) Now go to installation directory open ADB folder and open the command window thereby pressing and hold the ‘shift’ key and right-clicked anywhere in that folder.

4) Now connect your phone to PC and reboot the device into fastboot mode by typing below command or pressing  “Power + Volume Down” button at the same time.

4) You are in Fastboot mode now to check your connection by entering below command in command prompt. It will return your device serial number means your device properly connected. Check your driver if the above command is not responding.

5) Type the below command correctly in command prompt and then press enter. It starts flashing recovery on your phone.

      Yes it will wipe phone data if you want to mount internal storage on TWRP. You can also use USB OTG pendrive to flash supersu which won’t wipe anything.

    Everything well done, device reboot in recovery, rooted with eu Rom, but now how to boot in recovery without pc, just from device, when I try to reboot in recovery it gives me screen with image of the device to plug in USB, black and white. Volume down + power.

    When the phone enter in the Recovery mode/menu the display cannot be used, the screen freeze. I’m stuck in Step 8.

    Please Please Please help me brother…I have Redmi note 4 Indian version.
    When I use updated file…it flash successfully but while booting..it shows error : FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))

    And for old recovery…it also flash successfully …but shows error on booting :
    FAILED (remote: dtb not found)

    AND———– When I tried to boot into recovery using device’s keys…it shows that pc suit screen….

      Sorry for the trouble bro..I updated the recovery. You can try the latest one and after flashing the Recovery use the command to boot into recovery and if that not work use the hardware button Vol up + Power button to boot into Recovery. Then in recovery flash LazyFlasher and SuperSu.
