Xiaomi will soon begin the development of MIUI 9 Based on Android Nougat 7.0. Xiaomi announces on its forums, that they officially obtained the Android N (Android Nougat) source code from Google, and also asked fans if they want multi-window support on MIUI 9 Based on Android Nougat. Xiaomi also posted a teaser about the MIUI 9 on their official Weibo page which indicates that the company is currently at the stage of gathering users opinions. If you have good suggestions, you can share it with the team.

Xiaomi already released the MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM for All Supported devices but many devices still running on Kitkat and Lollipop. Xiaomi is not good at rolling out Android updates for their devices and we still not sure if latest MIUI 9 Based on Android Nougat 7.0 will be available for new devices only or available for all. We still don’t know about the MIUI 9 supported devices or any MIUI 9 Features, but we will provide you every information we get about MIUI 9.

We won’t expect that MIUI 9 will be launched anytime soon as MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM is still not available. MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM will be available from 16th August 2016 so its may be possible that MIUI 9 Based on Android N will be released on sometime in 2017. Until then you can download the MIUI 8 Global ROM for your device.
