  • Ensure that your phone has at least 50-60% charged to prevent the unexpected shutdown in-between the process.

  • Galaxy S8/Plus Stock Nougat Firmware – Download (Search your country and download 7.0 firmware)

How to Downgrade Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus from Android Oreo to Nougat

Method 1 – Downgrade Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus using Smart Switch

    1. First you need to quit the Galaxy Beta Program (If joined previously)
    2. To quit Galaxy Beta program, Open Samsung Member App->Setting and then cancel through ‘Withdraw from Galaxy Beta Program
    3. Now Download and Install Samsung SmartSwitch on Your PC.
      • Download SmartSwitch for Windows –Download
      • Download SmartSwitch for Windows –Download
    4. Open SmartSwitch Window.
    5. Click On the More Option at the top Right Corner in SmartSwitch Window
    6. Select Emergency Software Recovery And Initialization Option From Menu.
    7. You will See Emergency Software Recovery And Initialization Window
    8. Now Select Device Initialization Option
    9. It will ask to Enter Your Device Model Number and Device Serial Number, make sure you provide the correct one.
    10. Click Ok and If SmartSwitch will initialize your phone, accept.
    11. Put Your Device into Download Mode and connect it to PC.
    12. SmartSwitch Will Automatically Detect your Device and Install the Nougat Firmware on your device.
    13. Wait until the Process is Being Completed.
    14. Your Device will Reboot Automatically After Installation Process Completes Successfully.
    15. Done.

Method 2 – Downgrade Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus using Odin

1) First, enable ‘USB debugging’ and ‘OEM Unlock’ option from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.

2) Now download Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Stock Nougat Firmware from above.

3) Now Download the Odin tool from above and extract the zip file.

4) Run the Odin_vxx.exe file on your PC.

5) Connect your Galaxy S8/Plus to your PC with the data cable and reboot into the Download/Odin mode.

6) To enter into download mode turn off your phone and press and hold the Bixby and volume down buttons, then press the power button. until you see the download mode screen.

7) Once you enter into Download mode, you see an ID: COM port turned blue and Added message in Odin message box means your device has recognized by Odin.

8) If ID: COM doesn’t show means your driver is not correctly installed or try it with different USB cable.

9) Now locate and add the stock firmware file .tar or .md5 file (you downloaded from above) to the AP/PDA tab in Odin.

10) Make sure that only these two options are tick “Auto Reboot” and “F.Reset Time

11) Now click ‘Start‘ button and it will start flashing the file. Wait until you see ‘Pass‘ in Green Color on Odin screen. This step will Downgrade Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus from Android Oreo to Nougat.
