1) First enable USB debugging from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.

2) Now go to installation directory open ADB folder and open the command window thereby pressing and hold the ‘shift’ key and right-clicked anywhere in that folder.

cmd 63) Now connect your phone to PC and reboot the device into fastboot mode by typing below.

4) You are in Fastboot mode now to check your connection by entering below command in command prompt. It will return your device serial number means your device properly connected. Check your driver if the above command is not responding.

5) Type the below command correctly in command prompt and then press enter. It starts flashing recovery on your phone.

6) Now type below command in command prompt to reboot your phone into recovery mode. Now you successfully installed the custom recovery on LG G5.

9) In TWRP recovery navigate to Install Zip and select ‘SuperSu.zip’ to root LG G5.

    • If boot recovery.img command didn’t work…so after flashing twrp recovery switch off the phone by pulling the battery out, put it back in and then boot into recovery manually with ‘Volume Down + Power’ hopefully it load TWRP

    Does not work if boot loader still locked and currently only the European h850 can be unlocked.

  3. Hi, thanks for your reply.
    I unlocked the bootloader and when I try to boot into recovery manually I have the screen:
    “factory reset” do you want to reset data (or something like that) YES and NO.
    it doesn’t seem to be the twrp screen, but seems to be the LG factory reset.
    Even if I made a full backup, I’m not sure if I should answer YES to the factor reset.

    And an other thing I have the h850, and I see other people who tried this method, they have the bootloop error.
